Sun Bowl 2015

On Christmas day we drove to Battle Ground to celebrate with Mr.J's side of the family and to catch a flight to El Paso Texas for the Sun Bowl.
Since we were flying out of Portland we had time for me to finally checkout the Rogue that is in the airport.

We had no problems getting to El Paso. We grabbed a drink in our hotel and then headed to bed for an early morning wake up :)

We were up early the next morning to go the the alumni breakfast. We had fun eating, drinking and taking pictures. It was also so sunny that morning.

We then headed to the stadium for the game. It was suppose to rain during the game and then turn to snow that night. Well I guess mother nature did not get that memo because it snowed like crazy for a good majority of the game. But us Cougs are use to that kind of weather.

After an great game we headed back to the hotel to find dry clothes and then headed to dinner. It was snowing like crazy!

The whole meal was good

The next morning we were up at 3am to get to the airport. There was a lot of snow when we left. The hotel person told us it was snowing and not a good idea to leave. He seemed relieved when we told him we had a rental to return and that we didn't need a ride.

They usually don't get this much snow

Our flight was not canceled but it took us 2 hours to take off. We spent most of the time on the plane waiting for them to deice us and then to do it again. This caused us to miss our connection in Phoenix. We were guaranteed seats on later flight but were put on standby for an earlier flight. We got super lucky and got on the standby flight. I also got first class. The man I was going to sit next to was super nice and gave Mr. J his seat :) After landing in Portland we had a long drive home because of holiday traffic. We also spent 90 minutes in Verizon once we got home to get my broken phone fixed. Got to love that it stopped charging while on vacation. We had an amazing trip and I'm now counting down to next years football season :)

Weekend Recap

I hope everyone had a great weekend! We were pretty low key this weekend and I was in denial about going back to school.

On Saturday we went shopping for a new couch and then had lunch.

On Sunday we watched the Seahawks and I did some school prep. I also found an end table to go with the new couch. Hope everyone has a great week!

Reflections of 2015

I'm linking up with Kristin, Traci and Hadar to look back on 2015!

I would say for the most part 2015 was a good year. Here are some of the events that happened.

January was a blur. We celebrated Great Uncle Frank's 91st birthday on January 14th and then said  goodbye to him two days later. January was also filled with week long GLAD training and submitting my portfolio for my professional certificate. We also celebrated our good friend graduating from the police academy.

February started with the Seahawks in the Super Bowl again and then a trip to CA to celebrate Great Uncle Frank's life.

March we celebrated my Father-in-law's 60th birthday but throwing him a surprise party.
The party was a dirt bike theme

April we celebrated our goddaughter's christening.

July was spent celebrating my Mom's birthday and Mr. J's 30th birthday. We did our annual trip to the Newport. We also welcomed my bestie to our neighborhood. We also traveled to Montana to see family. We checked out the cycle saloon.

2015 was the year we turned 30, traveled the world, took on more responsibilities at work, celebrated with people we love and most important did it together. Looking forward to whatever 2016 has in store for us.
