1st Anniversary Gift Ideas

Our 1st Anniversary is tomorrow and I have spent the past few weeks looking for ideas for Mr. J. The first year traditional is paper and modern is a clock. Well we both agreed that we didn't need two more clocks in the house. Or I guess you could go with a watch but Mr. J already has one and I don't tend to wear one. So we went with paper. I saw many ideas on Pinterst for  sentimental gifts but I know that is not what my husband would appreciate so I had to get creative. Other ideas could be tickets to a concert or airline tickets. We will be on vacation for our anniversary but are still exchanging gifts. These are some of the items I found all on Etsy from very talented people. I wouldn't mind getting of these :)

I got Mr. J 2 and 4. I thought the toilet paper was funny and I know he will think it is funny too. And I know he will love the painting of the dirt bike rider.

Have a great day!

Day After Recap

The day after the wedding we did photos at the Old Kona Airport. It was so much fun playing in the water and yes I got my dress wet. It actually was cleaner after getting out.
After the pictures we checked out a local market where I found a coug coconut. We then had lunch in town where we ran into Katie and Neil so they joined us. Afterwards we spent time and then went to dinner just the two of us.

The next day we got up early to go up to the volcano. Mr. J had fun getting to see the volcano. Unfortunately we couldn’t find anyone to sacrifice to the volcano gods ;-)
We went with our friends JoAnn and Ryan. We also met Mr.J's family there too

We stopped at the black sand beach on the way back down

We had one last lunch at the Kona Brewing Co. We got a little more pool time in with Katie and Neil. Then it was time to pack for the trip home.

Our last sunset in Hawaii
Before heading to the airport we stopped at the Old Kona Airport to find a place for our lava rock that we got during our wedding ceremony.

Our week in Hawaii was amazing and it has been fun to look back on our trip and wedding. I can’t wait to go back someday.

Reception Recap

We had a blast at our reception! The food was so good and I wish I would have had seconds. We had fun dancing the night away. Neil had a wonderful toast. The best part was the last song everyone made a big circle around us and we sang. Then Neil encouraged Mr. J to take his shirt off and then the rest of the groomsmen did too. After the reception us girls changed out of our dresses and jumped into the pool with the boys.

All of the following pics are from Events by Heather and Ryan.

I will be back with one more post about the rest of our time in Hawaii.

Wedding Day Recap

The morning of the wedding started with a few quite minutes on the lanai and then brunch at Bubba Gumps with my bridesmaids, parents and our photographers. I’m telling you Heather and Ivy became part of the family :-)

All of the following pics are from Events by Heather and Ryan.

Trisha and I walked back to the hotel while a few went with my parents to get flowers. Four out of 6 of us had our hair done by someone while two of the other girls did their own. My cousin did my makeup for me. We had fun listening to music and trying not to be too hot in the room. For some reason the AC did not seem to be working and the hair lady wanted the doors closed. We managed to survive. I had to have my veil fixed since the lady didn’t put it in right but other than that everything went well. My Mom also had to help fix my bangs a little. Before we knew it, it was time to get in my dress and out to meet the boys for pictures.

Of course the boys had breakfast at a place next to the hotel and then were at the pool until right before it was time for pictures.

We met the boys at the bar in the lobby. Then I was taken over to meet Mr. J for I first look. I think the pictures speak for themselves.

We then had pictures taken with our wedding party and families. We kept joking that the waves were crazy and that they were going to hit us. Ivy told us if we saw her running to run.

Mr. J had to go over and meet the officiant before the ceremony so it gave us girls a few minutes to kill. I grabbed a beer that our photographer Heather delivered to Mr. J. I was told she told him it was his last beer as a single man. When our oldest nephew who was 9 heard her say that he informed Mr. J that it didn’t have to be there was always divorce. Got to love advice from a 9 year old boy :-)

Our ceremony took place at the Royal Kona Resort in their cove. It was absolutely gorgeous! And we had a ukulele player I heard he was amazing. The waves were still crazy and a few hit the rock wall during the ceremony. I lined up with my bridesmaids and Dad and waited to walk down the aisle. My Dad teased me and said I had one last chance to run. My maid of honor told me she would kill me. Where would I even go it’s an island. LOL! I walked down the aisle with my Dad and did not trip! Score one for me! The ceremony was very simple and also a blur :)

Afterwards we signed our marriage certificate and took some more pictures! Then it was time to get the party started!!
